Tobias Wieda

About

Tobias operates at the intersection of fluidity and precision. His work emerges from a fascination with the hidden structures that govern our natural world - mathematical sequences, organic systems, and proportional orders such as the Fibonacci series. These suggest an underlying logic, a quiet intelligence embedded within apparent chaos. Yet Tobias does not attempt to recreate precision. Instead, he actively resists it through a process of discovery: an openness to uncertainty, chance, and deviation.

While his visual language is informed by mathematical harmony, the act of painting becomes an exercise in letting go - loosening control in order to access deeper forms of order. In this way, the work proposes an irony: that structure reveals itself most clearly when rigid intention is abandoned.

His compositions balance controlled gestures with spontaneous movement. Layers flow, interrupt, and recalibrate one another, echoing natural systems that evolve through adaptation rather than command. Precision is present yet implicit.

Tobias’ works invite us reconsider how order is formed. They suggest that understanding does not always emerge through control or exactness, but from letting go and the willingness to explore without predetermined outcomes. In learning to be open, we may come closer to the underlying logic and rhythm of life itself.
